Here is a spectacular opportunity for the United States to support Democracy in the Middle East. We missed in Iran. We are forcing it in Iraq and Afghanistan. Why are we not standing with the people of Egypt? President Obama needs to stand behind his words.

We as a country and a culture have a once in a lifetime opportunity to support Democracy globally. One way or another, change is going to come. Either we are going to be a part of this movement as a positive force and partner for change or we will be on the outside again as the enablers of Totalitarian regimes. Remember Iran? We lost them for decades and missed an opportunity just this last year. People are dying for their freedom and where is the United States? Making speeches...

Rather, we are back pedalling, dancing around this historic uprising on tip toes. As the article states, this moment is a gift to the US. Clinton came the closest with the word democracy. We are allowing politics (or what?)to stand in the way of our embracing an entire nation in revolution, a nation practically begging us to endorse them. Are we (Obama administration) hesitating because we have no vision or because we do have vision and don't yet like what or who we see?
I am very grateful for these English language broadcasts. Thank you USAFreedom and others for the links.

Unfortunately, President Obama is a pure Politician and not a Statesman or Leader. His aim is to avoid controversy and commitment. Most people believe this is some kind of intelligent strategy but it is just more evidence as to why our country is mired in division and cannot progress due to his lack of fortitude.
The great multitude of people in this country want Freedom for all and believe in Democracy to prevail. The courage to allow it to happen and to incur the associated risks is another level altogether. We should have been an agent for change in this region years and years ago and now we sit and watch and make speeches and threats of stopping aid... It is very much too little, too late. If the region does go to the Muslim Brotherhood then that was decided many years ago by the West's support of Mubarek.
We took the easy way out of laziness and greed and now we are going to take the hard for the same reason.

I do have an unyielding belief that all people yearn for certain things: The ability to speak your mind and have a say in how you are governed
equal administration justice
government that is transparent and doesn't steal from the people
Let me get this straight. The President of the United States uttered those words?
Those concepts don't work in America, why would that SFB expect them to work in a foreign country?
Virgil Starkweather-
My friend... this is only a small example of the utter disdain BHO has for his country. His entire objective is to "change" America.

Very much like our favorite social engineer, Hillary Clinton.
BTW, Charles Raymond Starkweather was a murderer, and the inspiration for Natural born killers.
Virgil Starkwell was an idiot portrayed by Woody Allen in the movie, Take the money and run.
If you like Woody, you'll love this movie.
